How to revitalize a profession?
According to the Union National des Entreprises de Coiffure, in 10 years, 10.000 fewer people have engaged in hairdressing studies.
To meet this major challenge for the industry, L’Oréal, the world leader in beauty, is seeking to design and launch a disruptive school to revitalize the hairdressing industry by creating new vocations.
Task Consulting Innovation with Schoolab
Schoolab was therefore mandated to create the next school of excellence combining hairdressing & entrepreneurship, and therefore had the task of assembling an ambitious and motivated team including a mission director, a project manager as well as a UX/UI designer and a professional hairdresser trainer. Pedagogical engineers joined the team in order to imagine an innovative school concept and prepare for the launch.
Boosting business innovation
This new school offers disciplines such as hairdressing, entrepreneurship but also digital, science, soft skills and even English, which is compulsory. Students learn by doing through weekly cross-curricular projects that cover several disciplines. Thanks to the growth hacking methodology, almost 200 applications were received to join the first class.
Innovation project management key results
The first promotion of about 20 people was launched in January 2020 to validate the concept before opening it on a larger scale at the beginning of September 2020.
- 8 months – time from idea to operational launch of the school
